How we work

One footbed across all pairs

We keep the same moulded cork footbed under every shoe so each pair feels familiar to your foot from the first step.

Buckles you can adjust

A metal buckle over the vamp lets you set the instep strap to match the volume of your own foot.

Plainly named uppers

We name our suede, smooth leather, oiled leather and vegan uppers clearly so you know how to brush or wipe them.

How to choose your pair

  1. Choose who it is for

Decide if you need a pair lasted for women, men, children or an open fit for all adults.

  2. Pick closed or open toe

Select a closed toe box for coverage across the vamp or an open toe for a bare sandal.

  3. Select your upper material

Pick suede, smooth leather, oiled leather or vegan uppers depending on how you plan to clean them.

Caring for your cork footbed shoes

Do this

  • Brush suede uppers dry with a bristle block to lift dust and revive the nap.
  • Wipe smooth leather, oiled leather and vegan uppers clean with a soft damp cloth.
  • Let damp shoes dry naturally at room temperature away from direct heat sources.
  • Give a new cork footbed a week of short wear to shape to your foot.

Do not do this

  • Do not soak shoes in water or submerge the cork footbed when cleaning.
  • Do not put cork slides, clogs or sandals into a washing machine.
  • Do not dry wet leather or cork directly on a hot household radiator.
  • Do not scrub damp suede with hard brushes while the nap is wet.

Why we build on one cork footbed

We build thirty-eight pairs across nine lasts on one contoured cork footbed. Cork adapts to the shape of your foot with steady wear. Rather than changing the underfoot profile for every new model, we keep the heel cup and arch contour uniform across slides, clogs and mules.

Selecting your cork clogs, slides and sandals

Closed toe clogs and mules keep your toes covered with a wide toe box, while open toe slides and sandals let air move over the instep. Both styles rest on our moulded cork footbed with an EVA tread outsole. If you want a shoe to kick off at the door, our backless clogs and slides use adjustable buckles to hold the foot.

Our eighteen suede pairs have a soft nap that needs a dry brush. Ten smooth leather and four oiled leather pairs wipe clean with a damp cloth, while six vegan pairs resist moisture across the upper. Consider where you walk and how you care for materials when picking between suede, leather or vegan straps across your vamp.

Where to start as a first buyer

If this is your first pair from our bench, start with a classic suede clog or cork slide. Give the cork footbed a week of light wear to take the imprint of your heel and arch.

Notes from our wearers

The buckle on the vamp had enough holes to fit over my high instep without pinching my foot.

Maya T.

After a week of wear around the house, the cork footbed formed right to my heel cup and arch.

Julian R.

The suede nap brushed completely clean with a stiff dry block after a dusty walk outside.
